Step-by-Step Installation
Step 1 – Inspect All Screws and Fasteners
Before installing anything, carefully examine every screw and fastener in the kit:
- Check for stripping, bending, corrosion, or any other damage.
- Confirm each screw is the correct size and type as specified in your kit.
- Do not use damaged fasteners — contact us for replacements before proceeding.
Step 2 – Prepare the Mounting Area
Clean the section of handlebar where the holster will mount:
- Wipe the bar surface with a clean cloth to remove any grease, wax, or debris.
- A clean, dry surface ensures the mount clamps securely without slipping.
- Identify your preferred mounting position — most riders mount on the left bar, inboard of the grip, for easy access.
Step 3 – Select and Attach the Correct Bar Adapter
Match the adapter to your handlebar diameter and attach it to the holster mount clamp. The adapter creates a snug fit around your specific bar size — using the wrong adapter will result in a loose or unstable mount.
Step 4 – Position the Holster on the Bars
Slide the holster assembly onto the handlebar at your chosen position. Before tightening:
- Sit on the bike and confirm the holster position feels natural and accessible.
- Make sure the holster opening is oriented for a clean draw without interference from controls, cables, or your hands on the grips.
- Check that the holster does not interfere with handlebar movement — turn bars lock-to-lock to verify clearance.
Step 5 – Tighten the Mounting Hardware
Using the appropriate tool, tighten all screws and fasteners to secure the holster to the bar:
- Tighten in a cross pattern if there are multiple fasteners to ensure even clamping pressure.
- Do not overtighten — excessive force can crack the mount, damage the bar finish, or deform the adapter.
- Snug and firm is correct. If you have a torque wrench, follow the spec in your included instruction sheet.
Step 6 – Post-Installation Inspection
Once the holster is mounted, do a thorough check before riding:
- Inspect the entire assembly — confirm all fasteners are tight and nothing is loose.
- Turn the handlebars lock-to-lock again to verify no cables, lines, or controls are pinched or restricted.
- Test with an unloaded firearm — confirm the fit is secure, the retention is correct, and the draw is smooth and unobstructed.
- Never test with a loaded firearm during installation.
Step 7 – Periodic Maintenance
After your first ride and periodically thereafter:
- Check all mounting fasteners for tightness — vibration can loosen hardware over time.
- Inspect the holster body for wear or cracking.
- Re-test retention with an unloaded firearm if the holster has been removed and reinstalled.
