How to Install 2024+ Street Glide Inner Fairing Speaker Grills

The 2024+ Harley-Davidson Street Glide features a redesigned inner fairing with a clip-and-tab speaker grill system — no screws, just a non-marring pry tool and a few minutes of your time. This guide walks you through removing the factory grills and installing your new Brock Black Designs custom set without scratching a thing.

Before You Begin

Inspect the kit and all components to confirm everything is present and undamaged. If anything is missing or damaged:

  • Purchased from a dealer: Contact your Selling Dealer for assistance.
  • Purchased online: Contact Brock Black Designs customer service at 208-705-0028 (US & Canada only).

Fitment / Compatibility

This guide covers 2024 and later Harley-Davidson Street Glide models with inner fairing-mounted speaker grills.

Tools Required

  • Non-marring pry tool (plastic trim removal tool)

No sockets or torque wrench needed — this generation uses a fully clip-based system.

Important Notes Before You Start

  • Do not pry between the speaker grill and the inner fairing surface — this will damage the paint and finish.
  • Always pry against the frame or structural fairing — never against painted surfaces.
  • The new speaker grills are side-specific — left and right are not interchangeable. Confirm orientation before installing.
  • Pre-fit the new grills without gaskets first to verify fitment and orientation.

Step-by-Step Installation

Step 1 – Power Down and Secure the Bike

Turn the ignition to OFF and remove the key. If your Street Glide is equipped with a keyless fob, move it away from the vehicle. Park on a flat, stable surface, fully extend the kickstand, and confirm the bike is stable before starting work.

Step 2 – Remove the Factory Speaker Grill

Insert your non-marring pry tool between the grill and the frame or inner fairing structure — not between the grill and any painted surface.

  1. Pry against the frame/inner fairing to release the first retaining clip (1).
  2. Pull the tool to pop the clip free.
  3. Work around to the remaining clip and repeat.
  4. Once all clips are released, remove the factory speaker grill.

Retaining clips (1) secure the grill to the inner fairing. The locating tab (2) anchors the grill before the clips engage.

Tip: Work slowly around the perimeter. Rushing can break a clip or gouge the surrounding panel.

Step 3 – Pre-Fit the New Grill (Dry Run)

Before installing with the gasket, do a quick dry fit of the new Brock Black Designs grill:

  • Hold it up to the opening without the gasket — it will feel slightly loose, which is normal.
  • Confirm it is the correct side (left vs. right — they are side-specific).
  • Remove and set aside for the next step.

Step 4 – Transfer the Gasket and Clips

Remove the rubber gasket and retaining clips from the factory grill — these are reused with your new grill, do not discard them.

  • Fit the rubber gasket around the full perimeter of the new grill.
  • Make sure the gasket sits flush and is not twisted or bunched anywhere around the edge — a poorly seated gasket will cause the grill to sit proud of the fairing.
  • Attach the retaining clips in their original positions.

Step 5 – Install the New Grill

  1. Engage the locating tab (2) into the grill opening first — this anchors the grill and ensures proper alignment before the clips engage.
  2. Align the retaining clips (1) with their corresponding slots in the inner fairing.
  3. Press firmly and directly over each clip location until you hear and feel an audible click. Each clip must seat individually.

Critical: Always press directly over the top of each clip — pressing off-center can crack the grill. If a clip won't seat, recheck that the tab is fully engaged and the gasket isn't bunched up preventing flush fitment.

Step 6 – Repeat on the Opposite Side

Follow the same process for the second grill. Step back and confirm both grills are flush with the fairing, fully seated, and the designs are oriented consistently.

Step 7 – Final Check

Give each grill a firm tug to confirm all clips are fully engaged. Wipe off any fingerprints with a clean microfiber cloth. You're done!

Tips for a Perfect Install

  • Work in good lighting so you can clearly see the clip slot locations in the inner fairing.
  • Always engage the tab first — skipping this step is the most common install mistake and leads to misaligned grills.
  • If a clip feels stiff, a brief warm-up with a heat gun on low (10–15 seconds) makes the plastic more pliable.
  • A magnetic parts tray keeps the small clips organized and prevents them from rolling away.
